FAQs

I’m here to answer your questions – always

I am only ever a phone call away. But in case you’re browsing this website at some ungodly hour of the night, I’ve answered some of the most common fussy eating questions below.

What about Covid-19?

At all times I follow the Victorian Government guidelines.

How do I know if professional support is necessary?

If your child’s fussy eating behaviours are persistent, it’s worth tackling them – as they may not go away without intervention.

What’s more, as the issue progresses, your child’s food choices may continue to narrow. And a limited diet may result in nutritional deficiencies that can impact their long-term health.

Also, the long-lasting social effects of fussy eating should not be underestimated. Kids will often take their childhood habits into adolescence and adulthood.

That’s why it’s best to intervene as early as possible.

However, if you’re unsure whether your fussy eater requires professional intervention, book a free 15-minute assessment today.

What services do Fussy Eater Solutions provide?

We provide:

  • Online and in-home programs for fussy eaters,
  • Online group programs for parents of fussy eaters,
  • Hypnotherapy services to address the needs of fussy eaters and their family members,
  • Dietary-Nutritional advice,
  • Counselling,
  • Meal-planning.

When should I get help?

When the stress surrounding mealtimes is becoming too much, that’s usually a good sign it’s time to get help.

And if you’re noticing that your child’s food choices are becoming more and more limited, it’s best to act before things get worse. Another common marker is unsuccessful feeding therapy.

However, I find that most families typically know when they need help.

Do you provide services to children of all ages?

Yes. I help babies, toddlers, primary school-aged children, teenagers – and even young adults.

As a parent, how involved do I need to be in the process?

The success of all my solutions depends significantly on you as the parent or carer. You need to be fully committed to introducing the changes needed to achieve results for your child.

Where do you conduct home visits?

I visit families within 20km of Elsternwick/St Kilda (Victoria). If you’re outside this region, my Fussy Eating REMOTE and my SPECIAL NEEDS program are/can be delivered online.

What is the waiting time for your services?

On average, I can begin working with your family 2-4 weeks from the time you have booked your program.

Can we get a rebate for your services?

If your child has specific needs and is a participant in the NDIS, you can work with me if you self-manage your funding or if you are plan-managed and your plan manager is happy for you to pick me.

If your private health insurance covers hypnotherapy I am a qualified and registered hypnotherapist, you will be able to claim a rebate for any hypnotherapy service that I provide.

Do you provide services to children with special needs?

I see many children with developmental delays and special needs. This includes everything from language and speech difficulties, to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD. Most children I see are NDIS participants (see above).

How quickly can I expect to see results?

This depends on many factors. Some families and children require a far greater level of support and a longer-term program to achieve the same outcome. The more  we work together the quicker the progress.

Who is hypnotherapy for?

Hypnotherapy is suitable for parents struggling to support their fussy eaters, due to anxiety and stress.  Hypnotherapy is available for children, teenagers, and adults extreme fussy eaters, encompassing neurotypical individuals, those with autism, and ADHD. Success hinges on establishing rapport, tailoring the approach to the individual’s capacity to participate in the therapeutic process.
