Hi, I’m Marie-France
I’m Marie-France, a specialist in food-related distress, supporting families and adults. I coach parents of children with fussy eating and ARFID, helping families reduce pressure, rebuild structure, and restore calm at the table. I support children with IBS and functional abdominal pain (FAP) — ongoing or anxiety-related stomach pain that forms part of the broader group of functional abdominal pain disorders (FAPDs). Hypnotherapy may be incorporated with children and teenagers where appropriate. I also work directly with adults experiencing binge eating, ARFID, choking phobia, IBS, and food-related anxiety, integrating structured behavioural strategies and clinical hypnotherapy to create meaningful, lasting change.
What I Do
Provide structured coaching to parents of children with:
- Fussy eating
- ARFID
- Anxiety-related food avoidance
- IBS and functional abdominal pain (FAP)
- Mealtime conflict and accommodation cycles
Where appropriate, hypnotherapy may also be incorporated with children and adolescents.
I also work directly with adults experiencing:
- Binge eating
- ARFID
- Choking phobia
- IBS and functional abdominal pain
- Food-related anxiety and avoidance
My Approach
Food challenges rarely sit in isolation. They often reflect a complex interaction between:
- Anxiety and avoidance
- Sensory sensitivities
- Gut–brain communication
- Family dynamics and accommodation
- Neurodivergence, including autism and ADHD
My work goes beyond nutritional advice. It focuses on reducing pressure, restoring regulation, and rebuilding confidence around food.
The aim is not perfection. It is calm, predictable, sustainable change.
Professional Background
My professional background spans dietetics, counselling, and clinical hypnotherapy. I continue to integrate research in feeding psychology, anxiety treatment, gut–brain science, and behavioural change into my work.
I’ve been featured on ABC and SBS. And I write regularly for Kiddipedia and New Born Baby.
A Thoughtful Perspective
Food-related distress affects more than eating. It can shape routines, relationships, confidence, and daily life.
Whether in a family setting or for an individual adult, the emotional weight can feel heavy and persistent.
With the right structure and support, meaningful change is possible.
